Step 2: Mask - Anti-Acne Clay Mask
This unique clay mask helps combat blemishes and blackheads in powerful double action through the combined forces of Natural Oceanic Clay and Acnoderm Y. Natural Oceanic Clay helps promote deep cleansing of the skin and pores, preparing the skin to absorb the active ingredient, Acnoderm Y. In a second action, a unique antibody IgY (Acnoderm Y) penetrates the pores and inactivates the bacteria, Propionibacterium Acne that causes Acne.
Directions for Use
After cleansing your skin with Step 1: Nena™ Marine Element Cleansing Cream , smooth a generous layer of clay evenly over the entire face, avoiding eye and mouth area. Let dry for 15- 20 minutes, then wash off with tepid water using sponge or face cloth. Follow with Step 3: Nena™ Marine Element Facial Toner and Step 4: Nena™ Anti-Acne Cream.
Use as needed on blemishes.

Natural Oceanic Clay
- Detoxifying: Rich in minerals and rare elements, this oceanic clay is highly charged, meaning it carries a strong interactive force that makes it very reactive, and therefore, a powerful ion exchanger. When the clay is applied to the skin, the impurities, which are positively charged, get bound to the clay’s powerful negative charge, much like a magnet and ultimately get rinsed away with the removal of the clay.
- Exfoliating: The fine colloidal size particles of the clay will enhance the removal of dead surface skin cells and be impalpable to the touch (does not feel gritty). The adsorptive and ion exchange capacities of the natural oceanic clay could also lead to the more efficient removal from the skin surface of inorganic and organic cationic residues from sweat and sebum. It exfoliates the skin, promotes blood circulation and stimulates the regeneration of damaged or troubled skin.
- Rehydrating: The clay also uses its osmotic strength to pull moisture up from deep inner tissues to hydrate the skin. Unlike the other cleansing agents, this oceanic clay deeply cleans the skin without drying it but making it more moisturized.
Acnoderm Y - IgY
- Acnoderm Y is an antibody tailored skin treatment, a specific immunoglobulin (IgY) that targets for Propionibacterium Acnes or P. Acnes for short.
- The exact cause for all forms of acne (pimples, whiteheads, blackheads, mild and severe lesions) is not known but researchers believe there are many related factors. However, common to all forms of acne is the culprit, P. Acnes.
- Acnoderm Y treatment inactivates P. Acnes and thereby removes the major cause of skin inflammation and disease. Without P. Acnes the skin will heal and new lesions will not occur.
- Acnoderm Y is able to control and prevent acne of all types because it destroys the bacteria that are common among all forms of acne.
NAB® Willowbark Extract
- Containing natural salicylic acid, NAB® Willowbark Extract has been shown to possess potent in vitro anti-microbial properties. Efficacy testing has shown that the extract has activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Propionibacterium acnes, two of the skin flora implicated in the formation of acne.
- Even though the extract is a source of salicylic acid-like ingredients and is able to contribute effects similar to those seen from the synthetic acid, it has none of the drawbacks associated with salicylic acid – mainly irritation. NAB® Willowbark Extract is a safe way to achieve the benefits of a β -hydroxy acid without the risk of irritation.
